Having the WAP's IP address set by a DHCP server is not required. It can be made static, as shown above. Note also that the steps below assume a DHCP server is running outside this DD-WRT WAP box on the LAN (e.g., in the FAI DSL box/gateway), so, keep this internal DD-WRT WAP DHCP server disabled as stated above, as well as all other settings.

After few days it has been booted the user interface is not accessible anymore at router's IP, but the router works perfectly (wi-fi, ethernet, VPNs etc). Unfortunately I sometimes encounter a non responding web interface, especially when managing port forwards. Because DD-WRT is Linux based, there’s an easy method to restart the web interface. I don’t know if other routers also encounter this issue or if it’s just this model. Luckily we’re able to restart the web interface easily. 100% this. Thank you, I was just about to give up on DD-WRT and go back to a tomato build. However, I was struggling to understand how to setup a wireless repeater using tomato. I can confirm now. I am running 40009. GUI is not crashing and I have my EA6500v1 router setup as a wireless repeater. Lifesaver. But some people report that it's hard to flash (stock firmware refuse it and dd-wrt allow only the bin file, from what I've read so far). An official build is also in progress but currently don't work (DON'T use it, you will need an USB-to-TTL serial cable to unbrick your router). People have spoke about using the repeater function (one of the main reasons I bought the thing) through the stock firmware but I could never get it to connect which was pretty disappointing. Man, the form factor is so awesome, the software just sucks. Here's hoping DD-WRT can bring this thing up to a 10.

To get to the bottom of it quickly, a simple command can be run from the DD-WRT web-based gui that will show all network connections on your DD-WRT router. Just follow these 5 easy steps below: 1. Login to your router’s web interface. 2. If the client has a Web Browser open & configured with a Direct Internet Connection, and loads a website, their browser is redirected again, to the NoCatSplash page. In order for NoCatSplash to display the splash page, the DD-WRT enabled device must have both of the following: An active internet connection. Ideally, a second PC to test the WOL abilities of the first one. You can also use the DD-WRT device's Web Interface to send test packets, in place of a second PC. Enable WOL on the Computer. On the LAN adapter of the computer (physical ethernet adapter and/or wireless, given BIOS support), choose Properties/Configure. There is a major QOS issue on INPUT chain. I am not using SFE nor am I using any custom iptable rules to accomplish this. Everything is being done through the DD-WRT web gui. I have transmission running on the router and it doesn't appear to be going through the queuing discipline at all. I have bulk priority assigned to bittorrent traffic.
Apr 13, 2009 · While the web interface is not responding, the router FUNCTIONS NORMALLY (except the web interface and telnet). My computers (2 servers and 1 workstation) and my laptop were functioning without issue on the internet when this happens. I attempted to 30/30/30 reset the router, same issue with the web interface after getting everything configured.

Now, many issues were resolved, but WDS is broken. The devices where upgrades using web interface and tested without reset them. After see that is not working WDS, I reset and reconfigure them again with and without encryption enabled. I updated my E4200 firmware to dd-wrt.v24-40559_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e4200.bin and now I cannot ping the router or get into the configuration. I can still get out of my wifi on it but nothing else. No ping of any other devices or I cannot connect to any other devices.
